1st Summit Bank buys naming rights to War Memorial at $720K for 10 years

JOHNSTOWN - 1st Summit Bank has bought the naming rights to the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown. The deal, announced Tuesday morning, is for $720,000 over 10 years. The 67-year-old building will be known as 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial. The new logo will be on the ice and the signs outside the arena before the Johnstown Tomahawks’ home opener in mid-October. Man indicted in chilling deaths of 3 women

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A grand jury indicted a 39-year-old man for the murders of three women who were found dead under suspicious circumstances last year. Five missing women were found deceased in various Oregon and Washington counties across three months in 2023. Jesse Calhoun was initially identified by multiple agencies as a suspect in four of the deaths during the investigation. He was arrested on a parole violation on June 6, 2023. Read More...

Orca spotted in Massachusetts waters

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (TND) — A commercial fisherman, along with a handful of others, were treated to a rare sight in Massachusetts. Jerry Leeman, who lives in Maine, told The National Desk he saw an orca, which is also known as a killer whale, swimming in the waters off Cape Cod on Sunday.
