STATE COLLEGE---Penn State running back Akeel Lynch announced Wednesday he will transfer for his final season of eligibility.
Lynch was the starting running back to begin the season, but lost playing time due to injuries and the emergence of true freshman Saquon Barkley. In a letter posted on his Twitter account Wednesday Lynch thanked his Penn State coaches, Joe Paterno, Bill O'Brien and James Franklin.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Penn State admitting a financial shortfall in the university budget as now they are implementing a hiring freeze through at least next summer.
As Centre County's largest employer, the university has a huge impact on the county's, and the larger region's, economy.
