We continue to follow the second day of a wildfire in Centre County. Dozens of fire companies from around our region and state agencies have assisted local fire crews through Thursday night into Friday, all trying to contain the blaze.
As of Friday afternoon, incident commander Ryan Ling, an assistant district manager for the Moshannon State Forest District, estimates about 30% of the wildfire is contained. Read More...
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — A charity golf outing, and mini-golf bar crawl, is coming to Johnstown to raise money for military members and their families.
The "Special Operations Cup" is a modified-scramble style golf tournament, with proceeds going toward the Special Forces Foundation, a non profit that supports green berets and their families, as well as Gold Star families, which are families that lost a loved one while serving in the military. Three Johnstown businesses said they have all recently been a victim to having catalytic converters stolen from their company trucks.
Best Window and Door Company in the West End, Young American Furniture in Geistown, and Roxbury Tires in Roxbury are the three companies.
Officials said metals that make the part, particularly platinum, make catalytic converters worth thousands of dollars.
Businesses said up to $10,000 of out-of-pocket expenses were incurred from these incidents. Read More...
