WASHINGTON (TND) — Louisiana is close to becoming the first state to mandate the display of the Ten Commandments in schools and universities. If the governor signs the proposed bill into law, any publicly funded educational institution would be required to prominently display the Ten Commandments on a poster or framed document. A 26-year-old Somerset woman has been charged after she allegedly led police on a late-night chase Tuesday.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, just after 11 p.m. Conemaugh Township police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Erica Barkman, of Somerset, at the Go Moore Store along Woodstown Highway.
The vehicle then took off toward state Route 219, according to the affidavit.
